"Attention to detail is not just about perseverance; it is also about balance." Aimee is highly detail-oriented in her creations, taking the time to harmonise every aspect while exploring possibilities beyond their limitations. Her design philosophy reflects her approach to life, as she strives to balance her various roles—indulging in art while designing for others and ultimately breaking through self-imposed boundaries.

What do you "Craft for"?

"To create possibility beyond limitation is one of my beliefs. During years working in a high jewellery team, I worked with precious stones. However, what makes me most excited is the opportunity when I turned undesirable stones
into jewellery art pieces that gives them new life. I love how people are surprised by knowing there are possibilities besides the standard ones."

How did you get into the jewellery industry and why?

"Despite the fact that my dad was a goldsmith, running a small-scale family jewellery business, I’ve never thought of entering the jewellery industry. Until I studied multimedia design in university, I found I’m interested in hand drawings instead of computer software.

I then applied to a jewellery design course in Italy and fell in love with it until now."

What motivates you to persevere in this industry in the city of Hong Kong?

"‘I never knew this could be designed by a HK local designer, I used to shop from various global jewellery brands.’

This was an impressive word given by one of my clients, who has only bought jewellery from the well-known brands for 30 years. It gave loads of encouragements and motivations for me to continue my journey as a HK jewellery designer."

"Attention to detail is not just about perseverance; it is also about balance."

Aimee's studies in jewellery design at Le Arti Orafe in Florence, Italy, were influenced by minimalism and architectural aesthetics, providing rich sources of inspiration for her designs.

She particularly enjoys using traditional hand-drawing and watercolor rendering for her jewellery designs, symbolizing the fusion of art and design, the birth of creative vision, and the beginning of the jewellery-making process. These creations encapsulate the dreams of the designer, the blueprints of the craftsmen, and the treasures of collectors.
